To use the Library's Virtual Reference Service (aka LibChat), go to the box on the lower left side of this page that says "CHAT WITH THE LIBRARY" (also found on the Library's home page). This is where you may ask questions. You are not required to provide your name. Leaving the Name field empty will keep the session anonymous, and you will still have the option of emailing yourself a copy of the transcript once the session has ended.

The following images show the interaction between Library staff and students in the Virtual Reference (aka LibChat) environment.

Step 1. The student enters a question in the Virtual Reference question box.

2. A Library staff member accepts the Virtual Reference session and begins typing a response.

3. A response is provided and the session continues until all questions are answered.

4. Once the session has ended, students may provide feedback on the experience. Students also have the opportunity to email a copy of the transcript of the session to themselves.
